Senior Big Data Practice Automation Tester

Responsibilites
- Translate business and technical requirements into test plans and scenarios.
- Create quality and testing standards and supporting processes.
- Participate in design, code, and documentation reviews.
- Assist in the development of quality and performance benchmarks and report findings and recommendations to the team.
- Work closely with engineers to develop test harness software (e.g. scripts, programs) and utilize automated testing tools.
- Coordinate and follow through with execution of test plans, cases, and any remediation.
- Coordinate setup and management of test environment(s).
- Configure and execute automated test plans; including data driven and UI testing.
- Test components for data access, profiling, movement (extract, transform, and load), integration, quality, and processing.
- Test components for management, storage (DBMS, hybrid), security, and master/metadata.
- Test components for data mining, analytics, semantic, multi-dimensional/tabular models.
- Design and create test conditions and scripts.
- Manage and track defects and problem resolution and ensure that the software and release documentation accurately reflects the contents of new releases.
- Utilize mechanisms for quality tracking and continuous process improvement.
- Perform usability and requirements validation testing.
- Check for usability standards compliance, regulatory conformance, and best practices.
- Maintain a catalog of test cases and data to facilitate testing programs.
- Evaluate and manage the use of technology in support of testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in technology solutions or consulting.
- Trained in data quality, testing tools, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of various testing techniques and their applicability (e.g. test/data driven, data lineage, unit/component, black-box white-box, integration/system, user acceptance, performance, and regression).
- Good knowledge of the Big Data, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence platforms.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and teamwork.

The Big Data Practice Data Tester works closely with architects, engineer, business/technology
subject matter experts, and other Luxoft consultants to help drive the testing effort throughout
the lifecycle. They conduct prescribed tests on data and analytics systems prior to their
implementation to ensure quality, design integrity and proper functionality.
