Senior Network Specialist

Main tasks:
The Network Analyst – Firewall / Security is responsible for supporting the administration and implementation of network solutions and systems as they relate to the firewall / security for the group through daily operational assistance, in order to support and fulfill the requirements of internal and external customers worldwide.
- support daily operations for the Firewall / Security team within the Network group,
- identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems, in addition to performing routine hardware configuration,
- create and implement firewall and proxy policies,
- compile and develop documentation in order to create a knowledgebase for software and hardware supported by the Firewall / Security team,
- assist senior-level analyst(s) within the Service Center Operations (SCO) group with day-to-day activities related to the procurement, deployment, and operational support of standard network solutions,
- provide second-level support for services provided by the Network (FIIN) group,
- communicate technical concepts, information, and service-related topics to all levels of the organization,
- adhere to global IT standards and coordinate related activities with global IT teams,
- adhere to and ensure compliance with standard processes, procedures, and systems,
- maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
- associate’s Degree, technical certification(s), or equivalent IT experience,
- 2+ years of experience (including co-op/internship experience) in the IT field encompassing a majority of the following areas – Firewall / Network Security, networking, and/or IT project management, LAN/WAN,
- 2+ years of experience providing customer support and resolution regarding technical issues,
- experience with BlueCoat Proxy Servers, F5 Load Balancers, and Check Point Firewall,
- working knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking,
- general knowledge of IT help desk concepts, best practices, and commonly-used procedures,
- proven analytical abilities in addition to strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills,
- ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment,
- ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management,
- good command of English.
