Test Manager identifies key project areas and ensures that they are tested against agreed functional and non-functional requirements, prior to go live/production deployment. The Test Manager gathers testing team and then leads them across the test activities for transition projects, existing business applications or new system implementations. Key duties are the coordination of all testing activities during every stage of the project, as well as coordination with tower leads on testing approach and execution. The role has responsibility for ensuring the effective scheduling, use and management of pre-production environment availability, performance and integrity to enable quality testing and production releases to be carried out. Test Manager also conducts risk assessment, risk management, quality assurance functions, writing reports and scheduling.
Main accountabilities
- Gathering/Reviewing requirements documentation
- Creating and maintaining test strategies, test plans, test cases
- Defect management and reporting
- Providing reports and metrics on test activities
- Creating Manual Test Cases/User Stories
- Liaising with the Project teams to ensure adherence to quality during the project
- Identifying and managing test resources
- Coordinating and supporting testing processes (SIT, UAT, SAT, etc) with multiple distributed teams and complex dependencies to other projects
