Daily activities
As Specification Engineer you will be responsible for formal definition of 5G Base Transceiver Station (gNB) behavior at both system and entity levels. You will be also responsible for providing technical support for development, test and triage teams to help them in getting good understanding of technology and specific functionalities.
You will be:
- Preparing formal requirements at gNB Layer3 (Control Plane including but not limited to RRC, F1-C, E1 and NG-C related aspects) and gNB Layer2 (User Plane including BAP, RLC and MAC) levels.
- Working on formal technical analysis and feasibility studies related to introduction of new functionalities involving gNB Layer3/Layer2.
- Clarifying existing requirements to development and test teams.
- Participating in investigations of customer-reported or internally reported problems from specification perspective.
- Contributing heavily to solving/avoiding complex technical problems.
- Acting as a true technical leader throughout all the phases of new functionalities’ introduction.
- Co-operating with Product Management to deliver valuable and robust products to our customers on time and with high quality.
Your main responsibility area will be:
- Analysis of 3GPP LTE/5G standard,
- Preparation of technical analysis and/or feasibility studies documents for new functionalities defined by Product Management with understanding of business needs,
- Preparation of formal requirements defining new functionalities,
- Analysis of customer-reported or internally reported problems (may require direct communication with customer) including but not limited to support for triage team.
Our expectations:
- Master’s degree in computer science or telecommunication or other corresponding area
- High level of experience in wireless communication solutions’ development or specification engineering with special emphasis on LTE and 5G RAN Layer3/Layer2
- Familiarity with software architecture and design techniques (e.g. UML)
- Very good English in speaking, reading and writing
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with DOORS tool
- Basic knowledge on gNB Layer1
- Experience with LTE/5G Layer3/Layer2 at UE side (or UE simulator)
