Application Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain application environments across a variety of platforms and operating systems - OpenStack, VMWare, Amazon AWS, CentOS, RHEL, SUSE, Windows
- Troubleshoot applications, environments, and infrastructure issues with guidance from senior engineers
- Assist in maintaining servers - includes in-house customer environments using WAS/Tomcat, Win2008/AIX/Linux and Teradata databases
- Running certification tests on new configurations using Automation
- Maintain Puppet configurations
- MySQL maintenance and support for OpenStack and centralized logging
- Application/Server monitoring support
- Managing Amazon AWS using EC2 and VPC via scripting
- Work closely with Engineering and QA team to ensure proper QA and development environments for product development
- Concisely and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to management
Desired Skills:
- 1+ years working on production systems in mission and business critical 24X7 environments
- Comfortable with Unix/Linux as a development and deployment platform
- Experience with Linux scripting – Bash, PHP, Python, Ruby
- Experience with Configuration Management tools - Puppet, Chef, ZooKeeper
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong curiosity and desire to learn
