Benchmarking and Analytics Analyst

Purpose of the role:

Produce internal and external reports on benchmarking and competitor analysis to support the business and drive new opportunities at a Group or OpCo specific level.
Respond to requests for specialist analytics from the Operating Companies or Group with quality leading edge analytical findings. Seek out revenue opportunities and cost reduction propositions through the use of creative financial modelling and revenue and value analytics, and provide information to be used to assess and agree such propositions.

Accountabilities:

• Use creative financial modelling and other specialised analytic techniques to evaluate current business proposition and assess ongoing viability
• Use creative financial modelling and other specialised analytic techniques to generate new insights for potential business opportunities.
• Produce ‘cost to’ analysis and other assessments to identify synergies or cost/revenue efficiency opportunities.
• Actively seek out opportunities where creative analysis and modelling may provide new insights and make initial proposal to drive further analysis
• Work with external agencies to evaluate market and industry trends and produce benchmarking and competitor analysis
• Use internal data and information to produce cross OpCo benchmarking and analysis
• Constructively challenge conventional analytics, recommending changes that enhance and constantly improve the quality of output
• Encourage and educate colleagues in new and core analytics techniques

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications:
• Data Science degree or analytical / Finance qualification

Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with resilience to resolve issues
• Business and financial acumen
• Ability to think creatively and propose different approaches to produce new business insights
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast moving, global environment with tight deadlines and finite resources
• Ability to prioritise and maintain clear focus in constant ambiguity and change
• Excellent written and spoken English
• A strong customer focus, committed to exceeding customer expectations and continuous improvement
• Ability to challenge process and support change
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent English language skills
• Working knowledge of Spanish is an asset

Experience:
• Knowledge of P&L and balance sheet structures and at least foundational finance / accounting experience
• 3-5 years year’s working as a data analyst in a global company
• Demonstrated experience working with Benchmarking Agencies and advantage
• Demonstrated experience generating results through creative financial modelling, using leading edge analytics techniques
• Experience analysing and evaluating existing business propositions and recommending new approaches using complex data sets
• Experience working in financial process transition situations is an asset
