Big Data/Hadoop Senior Architect

Responsibilities:
- Interacting with clients to gather business requirements, consult and present planned or delivered results.
- Architecting & designing (leading development of) large-scale Big Data or hybrid data management solutions (with components Hadoop, NoSQL databases, MPP databases, in-memory analytical platforms, and enterprise search engines etc.).
- Producing high quality advanced analytical solutions with choice of technologies best fitting customer needs
- Acting as a trusted advisor & strategic partner for the customers - especially in the Big Data space
- Aligning with EMEA and worldwide HPE for Big Data initiatives
- Leading & coaching other members of the delivery team
- Supporting pre-sales process and architecting of Big Data solution (e.g. Data Lakes, advance analytical solutions) at early stages of HPE engagement
- Occasional travel to customer locations in Europe and worldwide
Qualifications:
- Solid traditional BI & Data Warehouse experience
- Experience in architect role
- General experience with Big Data concepts and tools (Hadoop, NoSQL, Enterprise Search technologies)
- Solid SQL skills and Fluency with relational modeling concepts
- Experience with commercial RDBMS, strong emphasis on MPP databases (Teradata, Vertica, Exadata Greenplum, Netezza)
- Hadoop stack experience (Hortonworks, Cloudera and/or MapR)
- Linux & shell script programming skills
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Openness for learning new technologies (Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL, ETL, RDBMS)
- Good team play: eagerness to learn and share knowledge to drive self-development and overall organization excellence
- Specific enterprise search engine experience (Elasticsearch, Solr, Cloudera Search HPE Idol etc.)
- Specific NoSQL databases experience (MongoDB, Redis, Hbase, Cassandra)
- Experience with real-time data ingestion components like Apache Kafka/RabbitMQ/Zero MQ
- Experience with data integration/ETL tools (e.g. Informatica, DataStage, SSIS etc.)
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, QlikView)
- Broad programming skills (shell-scripting, regular expressions, Java, .Net)
- Experience with statistical or machine learning tools (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R-project, Apache Spark)
- Industry-recognized certifications
- Experience in working for global organization in multicultural teams
- Other foreign languages (German, Italian, Russian)
