Key Responsibilities
- Engineering and building large scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant software systems and infrastructure - focused on data processing and analytics
- Building solutions for business needs on top of the large scale systems
- Employing statistical techniques to promote the enhancement of data analytics in complex multidisciplinary fields.
- Solving problems of scale and complexity
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6, ES7, React, Node.js)
- Analytical and software engineering skills
- Knowledge of Linux / Unix environment
- Good communication & presentation skills (English is our primary language)
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Python, Scala, Apache Spark, Hive
- Experience with various open source software and development tools
- Experience in some of the following relational databases: MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2. Proficient Experience in some of the following NoSQL DB's: HBase, SAP HANA, HDFS, Cassandra, Accumulo, MongoDB, CouchDB, Vertical
- Experience in Pandas, NLTK, Matplotlib, NumPy or similar
- Experience in some of the following: Java, R, C, C++, Bash
- Experience with machine learning, natural language processing, high-performance computing and / or cloud computing
Semantic Technology, Analytics and Machine Intelligence (SAMI) is responsible for the strategic Big Data framework. SAMI works in close partnership with Supply Vendor Management, Demand Management and Innovation to help evaluate Big Data and Machine Learning technologies. The Data Scientists of SAMI define and set standards for bank-wide Big Data and ML technologies, platforms, and analytical capabilities, providing thought leadership, product engineering, delivery, and implementation services across multiple functions. SAMI is responsible for Big Data and Machine Learning technology governance, and the broader leveraging of Bank Big Data initiatives.
