SpaceKraft is an International Paper business that offers sustainable packaging solutions to food ingredient suppliers and chemical processors.
As the Business Development Manager (BDM) you will have a chance to service and maintain relationships with existing customers, as well as to build relationships throughout customer organizations and across multiple functional disciplines. This role requires developing and fostering customer relationships based on total customer satisfaction. You will examine and evaluate a customer's packaging needs and offers recommendations to fulfill those needs while striving to generate and maintain profitability to achieve unit objectives and business goals. Successful candidate is able to evaluate customer data, market conditions and competitive data toward the implementation of regional marketing plans. The BDM responsibility is to ethically and professionally represent International Paper.

You will
- Demonstrate SpaceKraft product knowledge, technical skills necessary to communicate product knowledge to customers and prospects
- Effectively customize the SpaceKraft message and communicate information within the customer's organizational structure, including hourly production staff, operations management, finance, sales, marketing and executive management
- Work independently with little direct supervision, and adhere to the management policies of the existing SpaceKraft organization
- Be responsible for maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Evaluate competitor data and report as needed.
- Identify the necessary selling tools required to sell within the multi-cultural format of Europe
- Work within developed pricing formats to sell SpaceKraft, and provide feedback based on competitive issues, within the region
- Work with existing SpaceKraft distributors and suppliers, when applicable
- Work with company representatives from key functional areas in the development of plans and underlying strategic initiatives
- Communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
You are
- Analytical skills necessary to develop a value proposition for each customer or prospect
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the region – up to 80% at times and occasionally travel to USA for multiple weeks, as required to receive necessary product training and SpaceKraft orientation
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Previous work experience in a sales discipline (required)
- At least 5 years in the intermediate bulk packaging field (necessary)
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Multi-linguistic skills, relevant to regional market (preferred)
- Basic computer skills (required)
- Strong sales leadership, organizational skills, and entrepreneurial spirit
- Specific competencies, such as: drive for results, action orientation, functional/technical skills, customer focus
- Ability to set own priorities
- Ability to coordinate with other professionals.
- Effective communication and presentation skills
