CAD Project Data Solutions Architect (Implementation Lead)

Jacobs created Engineering Data Base System which manages piping lists, valve lists, equipment lists, Instrument lists, datasheets and requisition documents. The system is a configurable system which can be customized per project, per client and which has many interfaces to other applications and engineering systems. These interfaces can also be customized per project, per client. The system has been developed by a small number of people (The Netherlands, India, Canada) and is being used by many Jacobs offices (England, Ireland, India, US).
Initial implementation responsibilities include:
- Gathering, documenting and managing the functional requirements (business scope) for an implementation
- Performing project implementations including configurations, reports and gateways
- Monitor the implementations to ensure continued system integrity
- Providing user support (including ensuring effective communication with users is in place and provide energy to ensure effective usage)
Later implementation responsibilities include:
- Assisting with client presentations and proposal development
- Coordinating implementation's kickoff activities
- Managing local implementation's scope, services, budget and schedule
- Assisting in the optimization of local work processes
- Contributing to improvements and standardization of implementation techniques
Qualifications:
- Requires 10+ years combined experience working in Information Technology and Engineering
- A strong knowledge of engineering business processes required
- Understands the work-process and data integration issues between project disciplines
- Ability to transition from conceptual to detail
- An ability to understand and manipulate relational models for engineering data
- The ability to work within a team environment or autonomously as required
- Fluent with workshare environments
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills combined with strong communication and customer focus skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Great communication skills in English to facilitate working with a team located all over the globe
