About our client
Due to further growth in the region, our Client, an international retail company is seeking to recruit an open-minded and ambitious individual to strengthen their local operations. Currently, due to a further development we are looking for suitable candidate for Chief Accountant position. The successful person, located in Warsaw, will be responsible for operations of the company in Poland and will be offered unique possibilities for further growth. He/she will have the ability to step up to the Finance Director position in the near future.
Job description
- Preparing the balance sheet and profit and loss statement;
- Preparing the company's annual financial report (balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow report as well as the additional information);
- Preparing VAT and CIT declarations ensuring compliance with tax statutory regulations;
- Preparing monthly and annual reports for the statistical office;
- Control payment process;
- Day-to-day checking of entries in the general ledger accounts
- Co-ordinating the work of accounting department for the proper and timely closing of books, according to company closing calendar and for local statutory reporting purposes
- Cooperation with the Company Auditors (internal and external) - ensure complete and timely preparation of reports and statements according to Auditor's needs
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports as well as transfer prices documents
- Prepare analysis and forecast documents
- Creating and updating of Accounting Operation procedures
- Creating and updating of Accounting system Policy
- Reports to the company General Manager and Regional Finance Director
Who we are looking for
- Relevant academic background (finance / accounting)
- 5-7 years of experience from accounting, finance and reporting in an international group, experience in Retail would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Polish GAAP standards and tax law
- Very good analytical skills and ability to understand the business to be able to support and control other functions within the companies
- Very good English and good computer skills
- Good communication skills, flexible and creative approach to problems
