Responsibilites
- Engineering and building large scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant software systems and infrastructure – focused on data processing and analytics
- Building solutions for business needs on top of the large scale systems
- Employing statistical techniques to promote the enhancement of data analytics in complex multidisciplinary fields.
- Solving problems of scale and complexity
Requirements
Mandatory;
- A formal background and proven experience in mathematics, statistics and computer science, particularly within the financial services sector
- Hands on Programming / Scripting Experience (Python, Java, C/C++, Scala, Bash, Korn Shell)
- DevOps Tools (Chef, Docker, Puppet, Bamboo, Jenkins)
- Linux / Windows (Command line). An understanding of Unix/Linux including system administration and shell scripting
- Proficiency with Hadoop v2, MapReduce, HDFS
- Management of Hadoop cluster, with all included services
- Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, Impala and Spark
Nice to have:
- Data Concepts (ETL, near-/real-time streaming, data structures, metadata and workflow management)
- The ability to function within a multidisciplinary, global team. Be a self-starter with a strong curiosity for extracting knowledge from data and the ability to elicit technical requirements from a non-technical audience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present deep technical findings to a business audience.
We offer
Project is responsible for Big Data technology governance, and the broader leveraging of bank Big Data initiatives. The Data Scientists of projects define and set standards for bank-wide Big Data technologies, platforms, and analytical capabilities, providing thought leadership, product engineering, delivery, and implementation services across multiple functions.
We have four office locations: in Wroclaw, London, New York and Zurich. We are focused on software engineering, with four developers and a system administrator. Each of us is typically engaged in a different project, often run in cooperation with office in US or UK.
