You will be a member of the SQL Server team in Database Services. Database Services is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and support of the global International Paper database environment. Our SQL Server environments are considered an enterprise, strategic platform that directly enables applications utilized by many of the businesses of International Paper.
You will have a chance to work with professionals in NA, SA and APAC regions, and develop into a front man for SQL-related projects from all EMEA locations. - Use your thorough knowledge of database troubleshooting skills related to SQL Server. This position will be required to successfully diagnosis database related problems and take necessary action in a timely manner. Additionally, this position will require proactive efforts to prevent unplanned outages or additional work.
- Use your patching database and upgrade skills for SQL Server environments with no supervision. You will be able to successfully apply SQL Server database patches and upgrades to International Paper’s current database versions.
- Consult database and advise best practice for use of SQL Server Databases. You will guide application developers, vendors, and users with database advice in usability, capacity planning, and appropriate tools used with the SQL Server environments.
- Use your knowledge and understanding of specific technology used with International Paper’s SQL Server environment. Operating systems, clustering, and reporting services are a few areas which require specific knowledge and breadth of understanding.
- Be expected to work an eight hour shift, Monday through Friday, on site, at International Paper’s Kraków, Poland Global Business Services Center or Kwidzyn Mill.
- Provide training and mentoring to other team members.
- Use your knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related area
- Experience in the Following Areas:
o Five Years (minimum) SQL Server Administration Experience in a Production Environment.
o Version 2014 - Preferred
o Version 2012 – Required - High Availability Options With SQL Server
- Skills in Writing and Tuning SQL, T-SQL, and database stored objects (packages,triggers,etc)
- Thorough Understanding of Backup and Recovery Processes with SQL Server
- Thorough Understanding to Identify and Deploy Performance Tuning Improvements with SQL Server
- Thorough Understanding of Monitoring Techniques
- Skills Required in the Following Areas:
o Problem Solving Skills and a Self Starter
o Capacity Planning Skills with hardware, storage, and SQL Server Consolidations
o Communications Skills among Fellow Team Members
o Documentation Skills
o Possess Skills to Maintain 24x7 SQL Server Availability
