Database Architect

Responsibilites
- A successful candidate is expected to gain a deep understanding of the optimal use of storage for Oracle database for virtualization, performance and cost reasons.
- The candidate is expected to work closely with company’s Architecture teams, different application teams and third party vendors such as Oracle to implement the best solution.
- The candidate will also provide subject matter expertise and level 3 support on both the storage and the database side to ensure the smooth running of systems and quick recovery from outages/downtime.
- Ensure timely delivery of requirements in line with project milestones.
- Report regular progress to the Project Manager
Requirements
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn and to deliver value to the organization.
- Strong team player with the ability to work at a fast pace.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A self-starter who can proactively engage with peers and clients to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Either a university degree in an IT related topic or proven prior work experience on technologies involved

- In depth database design and performance tuning skills
- Understanding of storage systems
- DBA skills
