As a Database Developer you will participate in the entire development lifecycle including designing from requirements, building software components, and resolving issues during test and deployment. The role includes communicating with stakeholders across the organization and will involve prioritizing multiple projects and deliverables of a technical nature. Strong technical and communication skills are required as well as a drive to problem solve. As a database specialist, you will advise on performance and tuning, query optimization, and database design and engineering as well as be involved in developing and enhancing queries, procedures, and other database objects.
Technical Skills
- Languages: Sybase T-SQL, PL/SQL, server side Java / J2EE, UNIX scripting, other OO and scripting (C++, Perl, etc)
- Technologies: SAP ASE 15.7+ and IQ design, engineering, and optimization, Hibernate, JMS, XML and parsers
- Tools: Eclipse / IntelliJ, Liquibase, Test Automation, SVN/GIT/ClearCase, Job scheduling (Ctl-M, etc.), Ant, Maven, Nexus
Experience
- Enterprise development for large scale applications
- SAP ASE design and development including object modeling and procedure implementation
- Knowledge of SAP ASE and/or IQ product architecture and best practices
- Core UNIX and shell scripting experience
- SDLC process in a team environment
- Developing to requirements and adapting to changes or ambiguity
- Debugging code and reacting effectively to production issues (L2 / L3 support)
