Job Description
As a Mainframe Specialist you will have the responsibility to deliver 3rd level technical support of mainframe systems and software. The knowledge area in which we are looking for Specialists is IMS, SAG & Db2.
System programmer IMS/SAG/Db2 on z/OS
As a System programmer IMS/SAG/Db2 on z/OS your main tasks are related to:
- Software lifecycle management: installation, upgrade, maintenance and replacement of software
- Exploring new product features which can benefit the customer as well as Atos
- Third line support in case of software errors
- Assist customers in using the software products
- Incident, change and problem handling
- Configuration and customization
- Setup of parameters
- Setup of customer dependent parts (e.g. user administration, product calendar, authorization matrix)
- Documenting
- Communication with customers and vendors
- Participation/contribution to technical projects
Your technical skills:
- In depth knowledge and understanding of IMS DM&TM on z/OS and related product software z/OS
- In depth knowledge and understanding of Adabas/Natural/EntireX on z/OS and related product software z/OS
- In depth knowledge and understanding of Db2 on z/OS and related product software z/OS
- Programming knowledge of REXX and JCL, ISPF/TSO
- Knowledge of installation (SMP/E)
- Resolving performance issues
- Knowledge of CA & BMC tooling
- Knowledge of Cobol and/or Assembler is an advantage
Job Requirements
Professional Experience:
- University degree in Computer Science or related subject
- At least 5-8 years’ of verifiable experience as IBM mainframe specialist (zSeries)
Foreign Language:
- Excellent command of English; Dutch, German and/or French is a plus.

- Methodical and disciplined approach to work;
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving capabilities;
- Stress resistant in case of Major Incident- and/or emergency situations;
- Good planning and organisational skills;
- Very good communication abilities;

- Ability and self-discipline to work most of the time from home;
- Ability and willingness to travel to the office and to the client abroad.
Flexibility and ability to be part of an on call rota (standby) and to perform scheduled work outside office hours.
