Database Programmer

Recruitment is carried out to the team which works to create a key and critical application used in the manufacturing process of the Volvo Group products. The application is used in more than 100 factories in the Volvo Group worldwide.
Key responsibilities are: monitoring of quality solutions connected with database layer implementation, activities aimed at quality improving as well as prevention in area of efficiency problems related to warehousing and data reading. Person on this position will be in contact with technologies: Microsoft .NET 3.5/4.0 (WCF, MVC 4, APS.NET WebServices, MSSQL, EnterpriseLibrary, Unity), synchronous and asynchronous communication, synchronization at the level of system functionality, caching, data encryption, text encoding, localization, authorization and authentication, compression and XML data processing.

Responsibilities:

Databases creation, development and maintenance for the system implemented in SQL Server 2008/2012 technologies and .NET
Existing database optimization and refactoring, including physical model as well as logic of data processing
Database monitoring and tuning
Architect system and project team members support in strategies for database access

Required Competencies:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related
At least 4 years of experience in large databases support and maintain together with database programming
Knowledge of relational databases
Excellent English skills
High self-reliance and ability to work in an international team
