Role description:

Reporting to region's Interpretation and Processing Services manager,the incumbent is responsible for providing basic well log QA&QC,processing and interpretation of data acquired from open hole, casedhole and LWD instruments, and presenting results to the customersand/or sales engineers. He/She is also responsible for generating final log plots, reports and transferring data to other formats and storage media using Client data acquisition system.

Responsibilities:

• Provide basic log QA&QC, processing & analysis on Wireline and/or LWD well log data
• Support cased hole log processing and interpretation (Casing Integrity/Corrosion, Production logs, etc.)
• Provide log analysis from Open Hole data.
• Generate log prints, reports and present final deliverables to customer.
• Maintain timely data archiving and storage.
• Provide technical support to the marketing team and clients.
• Be knowledgeable of the intricacies of Client log analysis software. (Petrolog, Well Imager, Well Manager, CS400, Plato and basic spreadsheets)
• Organize technical schools for clients and Client personnel in the areas of data interpretation and log analysis.
• Develop and execute new techniques in analysing and presenting log data.
• Work closely with software development and Petroleum Consulting group for on going support and enhancements.
• Meet deadlines and other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must have a degree in Geology or Engineering
• 1-5 years of related oil field experience preferable in open or cased hole log operation, log analysis and geology.
• Very good knowledge of English and additional knowledge of German is a plus.
• Have basic knowledge of measurement theory and data acquisition of wireline and LWD.
• Have good knowledge of Geology and Formation Evaluation.
• Be comfortable with Data Storage and File sharing.
• Be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
• Be comfortable with computer operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
• Good presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to adapt positively to changes in policies, procedures, priorities or work environments.
• Be a self-starter and eager to learn.
• Ability to work on rest day and/or public holidays as and when required.
• Be proactive and quick learner.
