Wingle Group
Functional Ingredients & Product Intelligence Specialist
Miejsce pracy: Warszawa, praca z domu
Opis stanowiska
What you’ll be working on:
1. Ingredient intelligence & database management
A significant part of your role will focus on developing and maintaining our ingredient database.
You will:
- Research ingredients used in functional foods, beverages, supplements, and adjacent wellness categories.
- Identify and distinguish functional and non-functional components within product formulations.
- Categorize ingredients according to their function, application, properties, and other relevant criteria.
- Help create and maintain structured ingredient profiles/cards for our database.
- Research ingredient functionality, applications, benefits, formulation use cases, and supporting evidence.
- Develop, document, and consistently apply a methodology for collecting, validating, and structuring ingredient information.
- Review existing records for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Work with large amounts of fragmented information and turn it into clean, comparable, structured data.
2. New product & innovation scouting
You will continuously monitor new launches across the functional food, beverage, wellness, and related markets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing newly launched products across our target markets.
- Identifying products that demonstrate genuine innovation, unusual formulations, emerging ingredients, novel delivery formats, technologies, or distinctive positioning.
- Selecting the most relevant launches for inclusion in Wingle research and reports.
- Identifying early signals and recurring patterns across products, ingredients, claims, and technologies.
- Separating meaningful innovation from short-term marketing noise.
3. Research, report writing & client presentations
You will contribute expert analysis to Wingle market intelligence projects and help translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for clients.
This includes:
- Researching emerging products, ingredients, technologies, scientific developments, formulation approaches, and category trends.
- Writing clear, concise, and well-structured English-language reports and analytical materials.
- Preparing product, ingredient, technology, and market overviews for the functional food, beverage, wellness, and adjacent industries.
- Comparing developments across markets and identifying patterns, differences, emerging opportunities, and potential areas of disruption.
- Synthesizing large volumes of information into clear conclusions rather than simply summarizing available data.
- Developing evidence-based observations and hypotheses about where categories, technologies, and consumer propositions may be heading.
- Turning technical and scientific information into insights that can be understood and used by business, innovation, strategy, marketing, and R&D teams.
- Preparing slides, charts, summaries, and other materials for client-facing presentations.
- Presenting research findings, observations, and recommendations to clients in English.
- Explaining and defending your conclusions during discussions, answering questions, and adapting the level of technical detail to different audiences.
- Participating in client meetings and project discussions to clarify findings and provide additional expert context where needed.
- Collaborating with the wider team to ensure that research outputs are relevant to the client’s business questions and objectives.
4. You may also participate in discovery and scoping calls with prospective clients. In these conversations, you will help:
- Understand the client’s business context, research questions, and priorities.
- Clarify what information, markets, categories, products, ingredients, or technologies the client wants to investigate.
- Ask relevant follow-up questions to translate broad business needs into clear research requirements.
- Identify where Wingle data, methodology, and expertise can provide the most useful answers.
- Support the team in defining the scope and structure of potential research projects.
- Because of this client-facing component, we are looking for someone who is not only comfortable conducting research independently, but can also communicate complex ideas clearly, confidently, and professionally in spoken English.
5. Corporate innovation tracking
You will monitor how major food, beverage, wellness, CPG, and adjacent companies are developing their wellness businesses.
This includes tracking:
- New product launches and portfolio expansion.
- New functional ingredients and formulations.
- Partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and other strategically relevant activity.
- New wellness categories and technologies being explored by major industry players.
- Changes in product positioning, claims, formats, and innovation priorities.

Who we’re looking for
We are open to candidates from several professional backgrounds. You should have at least one of the following:
- A recognized qualification or certification in nutrition / nutritional science;
- A medical degree, combined with a strong understanding of ingredients, formulations, supplements, functional foods, or related products;
- Professional experience in food or beverage R&D, product development, formulation, or ingredient research.
- Most importantly, you should be comfortable looking at a product formulation and understanding what the ingredients are, why they are there, and which components are responsible for the product’s functional properties.
What is essential
- Strong understanding of ingredients, product formulations, nutrition, or food science.
- Ability to critically evaluate ingredient and product information rather than simply collect it.
- Advanced English (C1 or above), including the ability to read technical and scientific materials, write analytical content, and communicate confidently with clients in English.
- Strong spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex scientific or technical information to non-technical audiences.

- Attention to detail and consistency — especially when working with classifications, taxonomies, and structured databases.
- Ability to work independently and make well-reasoned decisions when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
- Curiosity about functional nutrition, wellness products, ingredient innovation, and emerging technologies.
Nice to have
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:

- Dietary supplements / nutraceuticals.
- Food formulation or new product development.
- Ingredient suppliers or ingredient technologies.
- Scientific or regulatory research.
- Market intelligence or competitive intelligence.
- Consulting, client-facing research, or presenting analytical work to external stakeholders.
- Product databases, taxonomies, or structured data management.
- Medical and/or recreational cannabis, cannabinoids, or cannabis-derived consumer products.
- Research focused on the US, Canadian, Australian, or Brazilian markets.

What makes this role different
This is not a traditional nutritionist role and not purely a market research position.
You will combine scientific understanding, product curiosity, structured data work, market intelligence, and client communication. One day you may be analyzing the purpose of individual ingredients in a functional beverage; another, comparing a group of new product launches, investigating an emerging technology, preparing a market report, or presenting your conclusions directly to a client.
The role requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed research and high-level business conversations — from evaluating individual ingredients and formulations to explaining what broader market developments mean for a client’s business.
Your work will directly contribute to the intelligence Wingle uses to understand where functional food, beverage, ingredient, and wellness markets are heading.
If you enjoy going deep into product formulations, finding patterns in complex information, using both human expertise and AI tools to make research faster and more systematic, and communicating your findings to clients, we would like to hear from you.
Please send us your CV in English together with a short introduction describing your background in nutrition, medicine, food R&D, formulation, ingredient research, or related fields to v.sianko@winglegroup.com
If relevant, please also mention your experience with AI-assisted research, data analysis, client presentations, functional foods and beverages, or cannabis-related products.
