The GL Team Leader manages the General Accounting staff who are responsible for: business unit accounting and reporting, intercompany transactions between the business units; balance sheet account reconciliations; driving continuous improvement of applications and processes; ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results including SOA controls and audit compliance.
- Coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities for the General Accounting department
- Supervise 17 General Accounting Professionals
- Direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for the General Accounting department; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; ensure work is performed accurately and that timelines are met; ensure compliance with SOA, Audit and related regulations; ensure timely filing of reports, tax returns and related items
- Perform professional accounting activities; oversee and perform complex reconciliations and analysis; prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
- Maintain accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the General
- Accounting department; recommend and implement resulting policies and procedures
- Select and train assigned staff
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
- Experience with GL (min. 2,5 years)
- Supervisor experience with Accounting staff (Team Leader/Supervisor/Team Coordinator)
- Core understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- English Language Knowledge (min. B2/C1)
- Advanced Excel skills (including Microsoft Office)
