Recently SABMiller has decided to open Global Business Services Centre to support refreshed operating model, take greater advantage of global skills and scale and support long term profitable growth. Global Business Services will be a customer focussed (we define customers in this document as our countries, regions, hubs and corporate i.e. internal) organization that delivers end-to-end processes, transactional processing and specialist services.
1. Key Purpose Statement
The GDC Data Analyst is accountable for the governance, quality and continuous improvement identification for all data processes managed within the GDC hub. These include maintenance, governance, audit, compliance as well as supporting Data Transfers
Accountability also includes execution of the Data Management processes within the Data Service line ensuring that all in scope processes meet the SLAs as defined. The position carries overall responsibility for quality monitoring that will support the business owners of data, who remain accountable as owners of the data within their processes and business units.
Reporting to the Global Delivery Centre Data Supervisor, the analysts will have accountability for a specific process service line, although it is expected that their knowledge and skills should be applicable to multiple process service lines
2. Description of Duties
The GDC Data Analyst is a Service Delivery, Customer Focused role within the Global Deliver Centre being responsible for this function to effectively and efficiently execute Data Management processes within the Data Management Service Line.
To ensure data management processes are adequate, the GDC Data Analyst looks after (directly or indirectly) the execution of GBS Data Management Service Lines within the agreed Service Level Agreements
The GDC Data Analyst must develop sound working relationships with the Business and GDC Data Stewards
Additionally to ensure success of the Data Management program the GDC Data Analyst works closely with the Data Stewards and Data Management Analyst Supervisor to ensure the data management processes and controls are clearly embedded and adhered to by the business units.
3. Outputs and Accountabilities
Promoting Data as a Corporate Asset.
• Communicate the Value Add contribution from effective and efficient Data Management
• Improve data reliability and usability throughout the organisation in order to support decision making processes
• Maximise efficiency opportunities within processes and change activities in order to reduce lead times for delivery of critical data objects, such as customers, pricing, discounts, vendors and new employees
Delivery of GDC Data Management Services
• Understanding master data processes in his/her function
• Execution of Data Management ‘On Request’ Services
• Provision of Data Management ‘Mandatory’ Services
• Proposing continuous improvements in Data Management processes
• Delivery of Data Management Services based on “first-time-right” execution
• Liaise with GDC Data Stewards in providing Subject Matter Expertise
• Accuracy to- and alignment with the provided data
• Segregation of duty where required (ie refusing to do data posting if in conflict with being also requester)
• Preventing and checking on non-compliant data entry
Enhance data management process efficiency, streamlined organisation and improved cost to serve
• Identify continuous improvement (CI) opportunities directing these to the Data Steward.
• Advocate Localised Data Management Policies and Procedures where required
• Contribute to improving GDC Data Management performance against goals and targets defined for GDC Organisation
• Influence the effectiveness and efficiency of the requestor, provider, approve and posting roles
4. Competence Requirements
4.1 Knowledge, Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
The candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:
• Appreciation of operational master-data knowledge
• Data management Service Line experience within the Food and Beverage, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or similar industries is prefereable
• Experience in delivering and executing Data Management service line within a multinational corporation
• Familiarity with Data management Services - Process development, Design, Quality execution, Governance and Audit throughout the data lifecycle within Food and Beverage or FMCG sector.
• Knowledge of SAP and other ERP applications as well as understanding and experience of Data Management tools.
• Cross-functional exposure to data management a requirement
• Functional Data Management experience in one or more functional areas
• Previous experience within SABMiller in a data management role a distinct advantage.
