Purpose of the role
To lead and work as part of a team, in a key programme to review and fast-track category/contract harmonisation (incl. simplification) of material contracts, across IAG’s group of companies whose spend is €12billion. Working vertically across categories and in all areas business, define and detail opportunities to drive significant business value through leveraging group, minimising specification and driving high levels of ROI.
Accountabilities
• Utilizing high levels of commercial savvy/knowledge, attention to detail and by challenging the status quo, undertake reviews of existing contracts and business practices across all elements of the business, to drive harmonization/simplification of specification and group cost minimization.
• Working across all areas of the business, be able to determine how to drive value, develop opportunity requirements and assessments, spend analysis, organisational and operational efficiency requirements and turn these into effective plans.
• Develop plans and instigate (as required) re/negotiation, commercial changes, including changes to existing contracts to achieve specification harmonization/simplification and group cost minimization.
• Through engaging but robust stakeholder management attain agreement to the recommended changes and support to implement.
• Lead teams based in KRK and the OpCo’s to achieve the aim of the programme
• Work with Finance business partners to validate business cases.
• Builds strong relationships with the Heads of Category and multiple line stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and work in a multi-site/location environment.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
• Successful track record of:
o driving change and simplification through major businesses
o managing/working in procurement functions of low margin businesses, where success is driven through continually improving shareholder value
o Adding commercial value to the organisation
• Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within in the full commercial and business context
• Excellent stakeholder and conflict management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse and complex business environment
• A proven track record of leading and inspiring cross cultural teams as a senior leader in a global organization
• Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
• Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information into clear simple messages
• Degree and/or the ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of working in an high class procurement environment
• Fluent in English and preferably knowledge of Spanish and other international languages
• Advantageous but not mandatory - Knowledge of the airline and wider aviation industry
