IT Specialist (AIX)
Scope of duties:
- Provisioning new servers , managing and maintaining according to internal standards in support of business processing requirements
- Collecting data and implementing operating system upgrades to the latest available levels
- Cooperating with application/database support teams, analyzing systems architecture and defining system requirements
- Participating in change record meeting and approving changes
- Monitoring events and system load, seeking tuning opportunities, proposing software and hardware solutions
- Perform proactive monitoring for high availability
- Providing and supporting data\systems protection solutions, maintaining high availability clusters (PowerHA), cooperation with creating recovery and business continuity plans; test and validate various disaster recovery scenarios and business continuity methods in AIX system environment
Requirements:
- Very good knowledge of IBM Power systems environment
- Very good knowledge of servers virtualization technology: HMC, Virtual I/O Server,LPARs, WPARs
- Very good knowledge of High Availability solutions in AIX environment
- Very good knowledge of IBM AIX systems 5.3/6.1/7.1
- Tivoli Storage Manager system knowledge
- Good knowledge of external disk systems solutions
- Good knowledge of systems security aspects
- Disaster recovery techniques
- Shell scripting experience.
- Hardware configurations knowledge
