Requirements:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years technical leadership / management experience
- 3+ years of experience working in an online operations environment requiring high availability
- Being an Expert in one of the following areas: Redhat Enterprise Linux (Specialist), Front-end and Websites, Middleware Application Servers, Messaging, Deployment and Tooling Development
- Solid understanding of networking and network troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize self and team work tasks
- Exposure to Agile, ITIL processes
- Calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Comfortable communication with senior members of a business
- Experience of modern configurations management tools such as puppet, chef, ansible, salt etc.
- Knowledgeable about the industry particularly modern DevOps / Web Operations culture
- Able to work outside own comfort zone to advance own skills and push our craft forwards
- Eager to learn new technologies, and develop new tools and techniques particularly around Cloud and automation
- Pragmatic; balancing different work priorities such as incidents, requests and Project

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality operational support for IG growing platforms and businesses, supporting development teams and the underlying Linux based server and middleware platform infrastructure
- Provide support, structure and direction for the Platform Delivery team, including workload prioritization, staff development, motivation and performance management
- Regular reporting and communication with stakeholder, suppliers and management teams
- Management of Infrastructure Project
- Able to handle escalation with hands on troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Develop the platform strategy with engineering, architecture and senior management teams
- Change and release coordination with Service Management teams
- Systems testing, documentation and disaster recovery planning
- High level platform security and hardening
