About this opportunity
Welcome to the Database & Reporting Development Gdynia team. We add value by developing Nordea Connect Management System, which is a heart to manage Nordea’s eCommerce merchant’s internal key processes, being onboarded, agreement handling, pricing and billing. The environment is fast-based, quite new in Nordea and very much in high development phase, rather than ready established system.
The team is in a good position suggesting improvements how the system should manage the data most efficiently and with high quality. We have a long list of items on our backlog for future improvements, and priority is a key to make things in right order to gain maximum value. Also automation is high in our agenda to streamline processes, decrease manual steps and improving data quality.
As Java Developer (Nordea Connect Management System) you’ll play a valuable role in designing and implementing features and integrations to other system to provide our Customers possibility to develop their businesses.
What you’ll be doing:
- Backend services design and implementation according to given specification
- Implementing integrations to other systems
- Unit and integration tests implementation
- Documenting system design
You’ll join a team which is in a good position suggesting improvements how the system should manage the data most efficiently and with high quality. The role is based in Gdańsk; Gdynia; Warsaw.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
- have at least 2 years of professional Java development experience
- know how to develop and optimize backend applications in Java
- are self-driven, engaged, decisive and self-motivated person
Your experience and background:
- Experience within JAVA 8 and Spring (e.g. Boot, Data, Batch)
- Knowledge of JPA, Hibernate framework, Maven
- Microservices (good understanding of communication over HTTP)
- Experience in writing REST API
- GIT
- SQL
- Understanding and hands on experience within SOLID, KISS, DRY
- Code Debugging
- Experience with Scrum
- Fluency in written/verbal English
Nice to have requirements:
- Background in finance industry and especially pricing and billing will be an asset
