Java Developer

Responsibilites
- Perform/support requirements gathering and software specifications production;
- Responsible for software architecture decisions, based on customer's requirements and commercial constraints;
- Responsible for evaluating the effort/cost of building the proposed solutions;
- Build high quality software according to the specifications;
- Perform unit and integration tests of his own code;
- Perform/support system's testing, including writing regressive tests and performing functional tests of other software engineers' code;
- Provide consulting and development assistance services (including training) to customers and Amadeus Regional Delivery Centres.
- Responsible for software documentation, software deployment and maintenance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position (development projects driven by Customers requirements);
- Good understanding and experience in Java, SQL Server technology;
- Proficient in server-side development, client-side proficiency is a plus;
- Strong knowledge and experience of web-based enterprise applications architectures, including design patterns, ORMs, N-tier architectures, etc. The code should be capable of handling complexity;
- Proficient with Web Services and XML technologies;
- Knowledge of EAI is a plus;
- Good understanding on how code and queries work - must write robust and fairly fast code;
- Knowledge of web standards is a plus;
- Knowledge of Amadeus Web Services is a plus;
- Software Development: Capacity to design, create, test and document new and; amended software from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Good analytical skills;
- High standards for quality, attention to detail and responsibility;
- Ability to use a methodical step-by-step approach to break down complex problems or processes into their constituents parts, identify causes and effects patterns and analyze problems to arrive to an appropriate solution;
- Fluent English;
- Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
