- Work as a member of a small and agile team developing new features and enhancements.
- Develop parts of Java server side applications that serves as services for GUI clients.
- Contribute in different phases of the project lifecycle - clarify business requirements, design required changes, provide effort estimations, do coding, unit testing, develop test scenarios and support further release phases.
- Participate in Level 2/3 Production support (analyze problem tickets, communicate by mail, instant messenger and phone with other support levels and business people, raise defects in bug-tracking system, do changes in existing code and deploy them to Production according to established processes)
- The candidate will have a Bachelor / MSc degree in Computer Science, Math or related field, they will demonstrating initiative, collaboration, and strong teamwork skills. He/she will think out of the box and adds value to discussions. Furthermore, he/she will take direction and have a strong focus on delivery.
- Solid Java Core technical skills.
- Strong focus on ownership of issues and commitment to resolving them, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proven track record of building successful working relationships with peers.
- Knowledge and/or experience of agile techniques (TDD, Clean Code, CI)
- Knowledge of design patterns, concurrency, algorithms
- Knowledge of version control systems (GIT, SVN)
- Fluent English - written and spoken
The platform consists of a .Net front end and a java based backend.
We are looking for a strong hands-on candidate to join the European development team. Internal equities trading solution is using high performance middle-tier technology developed in-house. Server side is written in mircoservice manner with Java Core and extensive experience with understanding, clean coding and testing is required.
The team is responsible for the internal equities trading solution which processes high volumes of cash equities trades in real-time, allowing traders to manage and monitor internal orders and from external clients. The development team is an integral part of a high energy front-office environment. As a result, the successful candidate will need to be highly committed, and be able to build very close working relationships with both the business and support teams. They will have a strong focus on ownership and commitment to completing deliverables in a timely way. Experience of agile programming technologies will be an advantage.
The candidate will have a consistent track record of demonstrating initiative, collaboration, and strong teamwork skills. He/she will think out of the box and adds value to discussions during Scrum lifecycle. Furthermore, he/she will take direction and have a strong focus on delivery. Scope of responsibilities will include working in a team taking direction from others for assigned tasks and on some occasions leading individual tasks as part of a larger project.
