Java Developer

Responsibilites
- Systems analysis and implementation of new features.
- Application/environment monitoring and supporting.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve software issues - be ready for providing on-call support.
- Plan, test and execute production releases.
- Maintain project documentation and follow SDLC process obligations.
Requirements
Skills required
- Programming skills in Java
- Strong knowledge of computer science theory and IT basics
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle database management
- Good written and spoken English
- Experience with Linux/Unix commands/processes/scripting
- Candidate should have proactive behaviour and strong problem solving skills
- Willingness to learn
- Teamwork and communication / information sharing.
As a plus:
- Business domain (Financial Trading, Investment Banking)
- Perl (understanding scripts and debugging)
- ITIL
We offer
The candidate will be responsible for the design, development and production implementation of the bank market making applications. The project includes development of the system, enhancements and ongoing support during US working hours.
The candidate should be able to take requirements, produce high/low level designs, implement and deliver the changes to the business following the development process set out by the project.
The role requires close co-operation with many other IT teams including occasional US business trips.
The role includes day-to-day production support responsibilities including on-call support duties 2-4 times per month.
