On this position you will be a key contributor to Frontend, APIs and Middleware systems. Other key responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of an agile team to design, develop, test, debug and maintain Marketplace features
- Delivering high quality, high performance code in a JAVA environment
- Occasionally involved in production deployment and troubleshooting
- Be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in delivering new features
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends
We are looking for talented, creative and highly motivated engineers. You need to have an exceptional imagination, the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and be truly psyched about our mission to inform, entertain and connect the world. Other key experience and skills include:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in software development, OR Relevant combination of education and experience
- Proven track record of engineering skills associated with a Software Engineer
- Object Oriented Analysis & Design principles, and service oriented architecture
- Strong skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, Apache/Tomcat, Struts, JDO, JPA, Hibernate and RESTEasy
- Tools and frameworks: JBoss, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, git, svn, Jenkins, Maven
- Experience with TDD, unit testing and integration testing
- SQL and data modeling skills with Oracle or MySQL
- Development environment: Eclipse, Netbeans, IDEA
- Excellent ability to understand, express and explain complex technical topics
- Excellent English language skills – German knowledge is an advantage
- Must have outgoing personality and excellent communication skills, creativity and innovative thinking
- Must be able to self-motivate and work independently
