Our client has a market leading structured products and exotics business. The business has significant growth plans to scale its current offering as well as introducing market leading platforms to drive growth. The technical lead has overall responsibility and accountability for delivery as well as design of the system. The team has adopted agile development practices including a strong focus on automated testing and Continuous Integration and Deployment. The candidate will be working in a 5 person team and be responsible for completing tasks assigned by senior team members
Candidate Profile:
- Candidates will be IT professionals in hands-on, development roles for pricing/quoting applications within any asset class
- Knowledge of the pricing of equity derivatives is desirable
- Good communication skills and a high degree of credibility are imperative
The team has a strong ethos around "agile development" - The candidate will need to have strong relevant background.
Core development experience with Java language.
Experience building high-performance, message based systems
Successful track record of systems delivery in a developer position.
Logical with understanding of technical concepts and code re-use
Fast learner, willing to learn and embrace different technologies old and new
Strong problem solving skills
Degree qualified in numerate / science / engineering discipline.
Highly desirable:
Experience with implementing real-time processing / performance critical systems.
Experience with version control systems (esp. subversion)
JSON, shell scripting, Scala/Lift, unit testing, web services, JMS (java message service) are all a big plus.

The Gauss team forms part of the worldwide Equities Derivatives IT team of over 450 IT professionals. The Equities Derivatives IT team is responsible for designing, developing and supporting all front- and middle-office derivatives sales and trading systems.
