Job Responsibilities:
- Regularly enlisted to resolve technical issues for existing and future clients
- Provide consultation on complex projects as a Subject Matter Expert and functions as a recognized technical expert in the suite of Nielsen digital products, especially Digital Video Players
- Acts as technology evangelist
- Contribute to the innovation and intellectual properly creation within Engineering
- Researches, assesses and facilitates the adoption of new technologies into the Nielsen product set
- Investigates and analyzes verbal and written requests for product enhancements from clients and partners, and proposes conceptual solutions recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and / or procedures
- Provides technical design reviews
- Devises test strategies to identify product gaps, or confirm the absence of gaps
- Contributes to the planning for acceptance testing and implementation of new software, performing supporting activities to ensure that customers have the information and assistance they need for a successful implementation
- Writes technical supporting documentation, primarily for use by clients and partners
- Provide Training, coaching, technical and business knowledge sharing to other members of the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor of science degree in computer science or similar
- 6+ years of software development/engineering experience
- Fluent English
- Expert level experience in one or more of the following Online Video environment
- JavaScript (Experience on JS Libraries development)
- iOS (Experience on iOS Application development)
- Android (Experience on Android Application development)
Desirable Knowledge/Experience:
- Fluent German
- Experience in IT
- Experience in a client-facing role. In particular; supporting and troubleshooting directly with client or 3rd party developers
- Experience with Video App development & integration
- Experience with the Online Media Industry, specifically Video AdTech (VAST, VMAP)
- Experience with Video Encoding & Compression (inc HLS, ID3, MPEG, PCM, HTML5)
- Experience with Video Content Distribution (inc HTTP, CDN’s)
- Experience with Knowledge of SDK integration
- Experience with SQL
