This role is part of the Motorola Solutions Learning Operations organization. This team has overall accountability for the identification and design of MSI learning technology including format of learning materials and delivery systems. The members of the team possess a deep understanding of the internal and external environmental factors, market trends, and user needs, which is key to creating learning offerings that exceed the expectations of audiences. The Software Engineer plays the key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a technical infrastructure that supports the objectives of the Learning organization.

Learning Software Developer (Java)

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
• Development of Windows, Linux or Android-based platforms
• Ownership of creating new solutions spanning activities from design to acceptance test
• Serving the role of a technical expert influencing the strategy for Learning technology
• Cooperation with multiple roles including project managers, support engineers, designers, and content developers in a fast-paced, diverse, and enthusiastic environment
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong Java programming skills
• Experience with Web Services (REST, JSON, XML)
• Knowledge of SQL Databases and ORM tools
• A degree in computer science, telecommunications, or closely related field
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Willingness and ability to become proficient in a new software development environments quickly
