Your job will be within a Team that sets the direction and strategy for UNIX Operating Systems in a 20,000+ install footprint.
You will join a team engineering the Linux & Solaris Server Operating systems for deployment across the globe. You will design & build solutions to assist with the deployment, authentication & management of these platforms through their lifecycle.
Other areas of responsibility:
- Co-ordinate technical implementation amongst a mixed team of on & off shore team members;
- Act as an escalation point for 3rd/4th level support issues;
- Interface with vendors on support and development / feature improvement areas;
- Co-operate with other groups in engineering on delivery of large scale programs;
- New product evaluation and testing;
- Maintain & improve existing deployment and build mechanisms.
You have:
- Extensive experience (8+ years) of large scale Linux Deployments (RHEL5, 6 & 7);
- In-depth Linuxinternals knowledge;
- Experience in the hands-on design and delivery of Red Hat technologies;
- Experience of working in a geograhpically distributed team;
- Excellent technical writing skills;
- Experience of HP & Dell hardware platforms;
- Experience working with UNIX Authentication technologies such as LDAP & Kerberos;
- Knowledge of SDLC and development methodologies / processes;
- Knowledge of methods for quality assurance;
- Ability to effectively interact with a range of people throughout the organization of all levels;
- Highly proficient in multiple scripting languages especially perl/python;
- 4 Years College Education or equivalent work experience.
