Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer and document globally used SQL Server platforms based on Windows Server.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of platform releases as well as the overall quality and security of the products.
- The candidate is expected to be capable of interaction with and influencing of key stakeholders in the relevant area of expertise. Internally, these stakeholders would include senior stakeholders within the global technology organization.
- Externally, the candidate is expected to interact with vendor organizations such as Microsoft, etc.
- Global 3rd level support
Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
- Develop and automate MSSQL Server solutions (mainly in PowerShell)
- Troubleshoot production issues raised by Operations teams: it includes ability to read and modify “old code” in Perl and “new code” written in PowerShell.
- Understand dependencies between stakeholders and interact with them to deliver our solutions
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in engineering of corporate application solutions
3+ years of automation/script /programmer (most preferably PowerShell) competency developed through practical experience in automation of various Microsoft solutions (preferably Microsoft SQL Server).
Strong problem identification / problem solving skills, capable of creating creative workarounds "on the fly"
Self-motivated, dedicated and dependable
Good understanding of major enterprise architecture frameworks
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Work experience on database and related infrastructure systems – is a plus
- Working experience on standardized large environments
- ITIL and Scrum experience
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Experience in Cloud solutions for SQL Server - good to have
- Valid Microsoft certification is a plus
The global SQL Server engineering team is responsible for the design, engineering and documentation of globally deployed Microsoft SQL Server platforms. We are looking for a new member in our team, helping us to timely deliver our platform releases. We need your help to develop, automate and provide robust components for MSSQL Server to our company-internal customers.
Team: 5 people including this position, located in Wrocław (GDB).
