Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) has adopted a new class of technology as a solution to address business needs and support continuous improvement. Intelligent Automation Solutions (IAS), currently consisting of Rapid (aka Robotic) Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a component of Intelligent Automation Solutions (IAS) to enable digital operations & activities at SBD. The strategy for IAS is to mature a Center of Excellence (CoE), to centralize key functions, standardize and optimize processes, scale automation and technology within the organization, strengthen governance, and achieve the global long-term vision.
The .NET developer will produce clean and scalable code using VB.NET and C# to be implemented in Automation Anywhere bots developed by the core RPA development team. He will apply principles of software engineering to design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of automations, as well as conduct code reviews and guide senior RPA developers in .NET related areas. The position will be expected to gain deep understanding of the Automation Anywhere platform and apply problem-solving abilities to debug and refactor code created using the tool.
- Build VB.NET and C# Class Libraries to enhance code reusability in RPA projects
- Develop code using Automation Anywhere – framework components or project specific modules
- Create and maintain asset documentation as well as Knowledge Base training materials
- Investigate issues in automations - track, repair and report defects
- Rework and enhance legacy automations in accordance with company standards
- Perform code reviews on .NET applications and Automation Anywhere code to ensure the quality of on-going developments and enforce adherence to the standards
- Take on advisory role and provide hands-on technical assistance to the development team
- Act as admin of the MS SQL Server RPA database
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering degree from an accredited University or College
- At least 2 years of experience with .NET programming (C#, VB)
- Knowledge of a scripting language (JS/VBS/JavaScript)
- Understanding or relational databases, SQL Server and SSMS
- Willingness to specialize in Robotic Process Automation using Automation Anywhere
