Network Architect

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
● Design, implement, and maintain the architecture roadmap for the Global data network.
● Create a scalable and cost effective infrastructure that can deliver global VoIP and VaaS capabilities, and HD video collaboration in over 100 locations worldwide.
● Partner with the front office, back office, and devops teams, end users, and business partners to solve complex challenges with innovative ways to connect.
● Construct network tools to help monitor utilization, predict capacity requirements, and manage inventory and configuration.
● Demonstrate a high level of creativity and expertise to develop simple, high impact solutions to improve our communications systems.
● Identify innovative opportunities and drive from idea to business case development.
● Generate WAN and Internet solutions that will help support cloud-based connectivity to Amazon Web Services and other Cloud Platforms.
● Provide technical direction and oversight to implementation teams.
● Find and create new methods to increase performance, automation, and scalability.
● Participate on Service Restoration Teams when critical problems arise - 24x7x365.
● Global travel may be required; percentage will vary based on project needs.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Basic Qualifications
● Minimum of 6 years applicable Network experience
● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
● Active Cisco CCNP (minimum) required; CCIE and other network or applicable certifications are preferred.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate project level presentations to business sponsors.
● Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.
● Ability to draft and document designs and standards.
● Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking and cloud based services for business teams or consumers
● Operational excellence with knowledge of ITIL practicesRequired Skills and Experience
● 6+ years with WAN/MAN, such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF, CoS, MPLS, EPL
● 6+ years with LAN/WLAN, such as DNS, IP Addressing, QoS, Spanning Tree, Multicast
● 6+ years with Catalyst 65xx switches and modules
● 3+ years with Cisco Nexus line - 2k, 5k, 7k
● 3+ years with F5 BigIP or other LTM/GTM's
● 3+ years WAN backbone design - Metro E, MPLS
● 3+ years LAN design/architecture - data center and branch office levels
● Applicable experience conducting R&D and providing proof of concept information regarding innovations and upgrades.
● Expert problem resolution knowledge of hardware/software platform problems in complex, layered, network infrastructure
● Expert knowledge of network systems design principles and standards
● Expert knowledge of packet capture and analysisExperience Desired:
