Job description
Reporting to the Managing Director, Operations Director is a newly created broad ranging role.
You will be responsible for the direction and co-ordination of all operational areas.
You will have total management responsibility for Operations management, including:
- Production (currently one production plant, but a strong will to increase productivity by optimizing existing processes or/and by future plant acquisitions)
- Supply/Procurement (all kinds of production related purchasing activities: vendor management for raw materials and components, as well as, development of product portfolio including Low Cost Countries Sourcing)
- Logistics: Transport, Warehousing and Distribution (maintain current processes, as well as, implement and reach high performance by excellent collaboration with the main players: plants, transport services providers, materials suppliers and customers)
You will have to ensure that the operational infrastructure is capable of supporting the future changing business requirements and recommend organizational changes by analyzing and optimizing flows, as well as, by overseeing all activities in terms of effectiveness and alignment with business strategy.
Other duties and goals are as follows:
a) Participation in the creation and development of an ambitious and robust corporate strategy, as well as, close cooperation with other directors for its subsequent implementation
b) Creation, implementation and monitoring of the budget for all operational areas to achieve planned financial results and the company strategy objectives
c) Creation of procedures consistent with corporate culture and strategic objectives to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and the whole company
d) Building and maintaining relationships with key external partners, as well as negotiating and monitoring contracts in order to maximize value for the company
e) Ensuring the quality of raw materials, components and products at the required level and their conformity with appropriate standards and legal regulations
h) Recruitment, development, support, appraisal, motivation and coaching of personnel in order to build stable organizational structure and a well established and loyal team

You must provide an impressive track record of achievements in the areas of Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing and Production;
To be considered for the role you must also be able to provide evidence that you:
- Are \"hands on\" leader who leads by example and not title
- Have broad experience at a managerial level including managing people
- Are an excellent and approachable communicator and have superb organizational skills
- Have excellent negotiation skills
- Have necessary experience (at least 5 years experience in the field of Logistics and Supply and at least 2 years experience in the area of production); experience of the sourcing / procurement in low cost countries would be a big plus
- Speak and write fluent English
