Oracle Essbase Database Developer

Activities and Job scale:
- Module design (requirement analysis, search for information on solutions, specify and document design);
- Very good understanding on multidimensional database structures;
- Regular checks of database structure to improve performance;
- Optimizing and restructuring on given Essbase capabilities;
- Performing code re-factoring;
- Reviewing source code;
- Analyze source code;
- Incident management;
- Problem analysis and escalation:
- Specifying, developing, setting up and maintaining design and integration environment;
- Preparation and implementation of version changes within the technical environment;
- Designing hotfix procedures, planning and monitoring of the implementation;
- Concept for optimization / reduction of downtimes;
- Ensuring data interworking and connectivity of 3rd party products;
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe development, logic, coding, testing changes and improvements;
- Coaching of junior colleagues, actively contributes to knowledge sharing and to a learning culture;
- Innovating software development processes;
- Finding innovative solution for product design.
Responsibilities:
- The execution of assigned tasks in accordance with the regulations and procedures of the Company and external regulations;
- Reliable and timely execution of tasks in accordance with the expectations of the superior;
- Keeping confidentiality of any information and knowledge taken during performing tasks on the position;
- Deepening knowledge of the performed tasks;

- Optimization of costs in the workplace.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience working on multi-dimensional OLAP databases and complex code structures;
- Good understanding, handling and knowledge on the Tier-Model of a standard Essbase structure:
- Good understanding on handling and improving access to hyper cubes;
- Good experience in Hyperion Essbase Services;
- Good experience in Essbase Administration Services;
- Good experience in Data mining;
- Good experience in EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) System lifecycle management;
- Good experience in Essbase Studio and Integrations Services;
- General knowledge about local project management and software engineering processes;
- Business understanding (e.g. ensuring that technical solution are simple, reliable and cost effective);
- Base knowledge in tools like TFS;
- Optional: Base knowledge in Unix, Shell Scripting, UC4, HPQC;
- Fluent in English and if possible in German, spoken and written.
