We are currently seeking a highly motivated, analytical minded employee to support the administration of overseas operations. This position will provide analytical and tactical support to the company’s overseas transport activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting individual with excellent communication skills, who is able to multi-task in a fast pace environment were Team work is essential. Some of the primary functions of the administrator include, but are not limited to: consignment tracking, freight analysis, shipping and receiving coordination, regular communication with shipping lines and or their appointed agents / sub-contractors / servants. On the Job training will be given.
A unique introduction to Ocean transport as a major part of our supply chain. As an Ocean administrator you will be able to report performance levels of major global shipping lines on major trade lanes into Europe from South America and Russia as well as exports overseas from our European Mills. You will contribute to Pricing as well as performance from our providers. Ocean Transport is dynamic as well as demanding – the position allows the successful applicant to gain knowledge of an ever evolving Global operational area. You will be part of a department where the Ethos is TEAM where all contribute to various projects within the EU and globally. You will also gain knowledge on International trade including Customs authority experience, compliance and security within the supply chain.
- Act in a very diverse and dynamic environment
- Support and collaborate with Overseas Transport Team providing data and reports for International Trade and Services
- Support supply chain/logistics initiatives that have European and International scope.
- Manage data input of “Multi Freight” & “Multi Track” (Shipment tracking system)
- Manage data input of overseas shipments and issuing of documentation / instructions using logistics software to shipping lines and their servants
- Manage data input and control of Ocean Freight Costs, invoice audit and analysis, both international and domestic
- Develop and confirm sailing schedules – notices of arrival, identify and publish prevention alerts
- Support Overseas Transport Department - Freight, Shipping and European Inbound desks
- University Qualification of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience preferred
- Previous experience or an interest in the shipping industry will be beneficial
- Good organizational skills
- Fluency in English both written and oral is essential.
- Ability to travel and work in flexible hours from time to time
