Performance Test Manager

Planning

• Define overall end to end strategy for performance testing and tuning system(s) and releases
• Define a suitable approach to performance tuning to demonstrate technical improvements within the system
• Define the correct and appropriate utilization of performance test tools for each programme or release
• Request and coordinate the use of matrix teams to fulfill the performance test requirements
• Work with the Capacity Management teams to understand current weaknesses in system and to coordinate improvements to these
• Ability to review and input into non functional requirements, especially those related to performance of a system and volumetrics
• Competent in defining when performance under load, stress, soak tests are required according to the risks on a system or release

Delivery

• Ability to define a 'day in the life' scenario of a system and be able to represent this through performance testing
• Ability to understand data flows and volumes between and within systems, and plan performance tests to cover these flows
• Ability to plan tasks for others to follow to ensure smooth delivery of a performance test project
• Ability to work flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change
• Provision of regular reports of progress, and of timely reports for performance test improvements or suitability for go live
• Input into capacity management for improvements made, and results of tests (e.g. stress) as appropriate

Coordination

• Liaise with the technical architecture team for technical support throughout the performance testing process\
• Coordinate with the technical teams (including DBAs) to ensure that they are able to support, and are implementing the required performance tuning changes throughout the process
• Coordinate and arrange the required test resources for performance testing
• Coordinate with the environment teams to ensure that the correct to-be infrastructure is in place for performance testing

Performance Quality Assurance

• Work with different technical vendors to ensure that performance profiling has been completed, and that the results are satisfactory
• Provide governance and quality assurance to ensure correct performance profiling
• Assist the teams with definition of additional areas via risk based assessment which should be subject to formal performance testing
• Act as an SME for profiling tools and performance testing and tuning

• Expert knowledge in HP Performance Center and / or IBM GreenHat
• Knowledge of performance profiling tools; eg JMeter, JRocket
• Competence in scripting languages
• Experience/technical understanding around some (but not necessarily all of): Hadoop, Tibco BW, Oracle & PL/SQL, Unix, JRules

Project is aimed at providing all kinds of testing services for back-end accounting solution used by the Customer.

System under test includes many layers:

• ETL and Big Data (Hadoop)
• Accounting Engine (J-Rules)
• Database(Oracle)

Technologies and platforms used within the project: JMS, Unix, Oracle, Hadoop, J-Rules.

The team is distributed between locations: UK, Spain, Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
