Reporting to the Storage services delivery manager, the reporting role is primarily to engineer, package and assist with deployment of the in-house packages that utilize information from both arrays and filers, normally using third party products but in some cases using vendor API's. The role also involved the evaluation of new technologies and new integration opportunities.
- Strong development skills in Perl and PL/SQL
- Strong core UNIX skills for Solaris, Redhat Linux, AIX and Mac OS X, including packaging across these platform
- Database (Oracle) experience, SQL development skills and a good understanding of Oracle methodologies
- Effective communicator with business customers, peers and senior levels within the organisation.
- Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Must be a professional and dependable team player.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management.
Additional requirements:
- Any central storage knowledge SAN/NAS (primarily EMC, Hitachi and NetApp). Any experience with Backup related products would also be valuable (e.g. NetBackup/CommVault).
- Excellent team collaboration skills
- Experience with software development processes including automated testing frameworks, version control and requirements tracking
- An understanding of Apache
The Storage Reporting function is responsible for the collection and producing of data used to drive all storage reports and all storage charging (billing). Third party and internally developed products are integrated into the Client server estate environment to provide a collection and reporting layer of the storage estate, primarily with inventory but moving towards performance data as well. This data is key to a range of services and applications and is widely used for estate management.
