This role is about the creation and maintenance of production-ready product specifications and Bills of Material throughout the product lifecycle, in accordance with instructions from other R&D departments and machine-related data from GSC colleagues at manufacturing plants. All of this within JTI's global SAP system and in accordance to JTI policies and procedures and their distribution to the respective manufacturing plants in a timely manner.
As R&D Product Specification Specialist, you will :
- Create & maintain accurate & consistent product specifications and bills of material within JTI's global SAP system in a timely manner according to specific instructions in order to ensure the procurement of the correct materials in the correct quantities and the subsequent manufacture fully conforming products.
- Adhere to, and maintain, department-specific processes and related documentation, e.g. regular data quality checks.
- Establish and maintain process documentation as required, e.g. team documents, reference data including machine specific material consumption information, etc.
- Identify and evaluate data & process gaps and information flow issues and reporting of same to line Manager.
- Manage the product life cycle of materials and products (phase in/phase out).
- Create test data and undertake testing in support of system changes.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to new colleagues as needed.
- University Diploma or equivalent years of business practice.
- Experience in working with data or within manufacturing processes (production, quality, packaging, NPD).
- Good analytical and self-coordination skills.
- Ability to follow complex instructions.
- Numerical affinity with high accuracy.
- Well-developed IT literacy (Outlook, Excel, SAP or any ERP system).
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Bills of Material structure in connection with production processes and machinery.
- Understanding of the processes leading to the creation/changes of product specifications.
- Experience or interest in any of below technical skills: Sharepoint, Power Automate, Power BI, VBA.
