You will be responsible for creating and/or updating, implementing and managing the release processes for the progression of code in the Development, QA and Production environments. Responsibilities will include all aspects of project management, from project initiation to project closure. You will collaborate with teams consisting of Business Analysts, Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Software Architecture resources. You will strive to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying and updating software and environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with teams to create the release delivery windows, identify delivery target dates and determine how these integrate with the release schedule.
- Manage expectations by establishing, maintaining and communicating release schedule with teams.
- Conduct Release Readiness Reviews, create and manage Implementation Planning to ensure application releases are delivered on time with minimal if any issues.
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release quality and schedules
- Create and maintain documentation on release procedures, dependencies and notification lists
Mandatory:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- 5+ years of experience managing Software Release projects
- Strong analytical problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
- Ability to motivate teams to achieve successful outcomes
Prefered:
- Advanced degree
- 8+ years of experience managing Software Release projects
- Strong background in Software Development
- Experience managing COTS Product Releases
- Experience working with multiple SDLC methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc)
