Reporting and Planning Accountant

This position has the opportunity to gain experience with ADM's corporate departments by assisting with day-to-day accounting related activities as well as providing meaningful analysis of corporate SG&A costs. In addition this position will provide AFE approval/support, assist with capitalization of various assets and ensure AFEs are being closed timely. There is the opportunity to use/improve analytical skills through monthly and quarterly variance explanation reporting on corporate function SG&A and other costs. This candidate should have the ability to conduct meetings with various corporate function leaders to review costs and provide support.

• Perform monthly accounting entries to close monthly books.
• Prepare and/or record EU corporate services fees and allocations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations within corporate entities
• Maintain compliance with SOX and other group policies for activities performed
• Conduct meetings with corporate function leaders to review analysis and provide support
• Provide monthly, quarterly and annual analysis and reporting of SG&A and other costs for various corporate service departments
• Responsible for AFE approvals in Maximo, assisting in capitalization of assets and ensuring timely closing of AFEs
• Opportunity to use HFM and Smartview to complete global corporate function reporting for assigned departments
• Assist with annual, global SG&A cost planning for corporate service departments
• Assist accounting management on special projects as needed

• +/- 3 years of ADM professional accounting and controlling experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP income tax accounting, IFRS and/or local GAAP for Germany, Switzerland and/or the Netherlands
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Team player with ability to function independently and lead cross-functional, cultural and geographic teams
• Strong knowledge of MS Office programs
• Experience working with JD Edwards, Maximo and VAX are preferable
• Fluent in English
• Strong problem solving skills with a proactive, innovative approach to work and sense for improvements
• Ability to be flexible to adapt to challenging deadlines and business demands
