- Work with the Operational Risk BA to understand Capacity Management and Service Continuity scenarios that would likely cause a serious application outage on critical bank applications.
- Work with the Operational Risk BA to identify infrastructure monitoring data attributes that will help predict these specific risk scenarios.
- Develop and implement Operational Risk Decision Rules that will trigger the generation of alerts
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar disciplines
- At least 5 years' experience as an engineer in large and complex application development projects, preferably in the banking/finance industry.
- Fluent written and spoken in English
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to pay attention to detailing and accuracy
- Strong problem solving skills and solution oriented
- Excellent time management and task management abilities
- Proactive, driven and capable of handling high pressure situations

Enterprise Services provides services that span the organization by delivering enterprise tools, service management, centralized reporting, environment management (including Virtual Banks) and enabling practices such as monitoring, systems management, service continuity and Acceptance into Service, to ensure consistency in products and tools. It also provides operational process management, independent standards and services to the other technology functions to ensure consistency and standardization.
This role is for a System Engineer as part of the Data Engineering team, which is responsible for Discovery, Integration and Configuration Management. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing operational risk rules to identify potential serious capacity and resiliency issues before they actually occur. This Operational Risk Decision Rules Engine will utilize data from existing infrastructure monitoring systems that will help predict in real-time the specific risk scenarios identified by the Operational Risk Business Analyst for the bank's critical applications. This Rules Engine will trigger the generation of alerts that will be actioned by the respective application owners and support teams.
