Senior developer to become part of an innovating team, subject matter expert and integrator of Windows Server 2008 application development projects. They will be working on Locus a web portal that provides real-time data, analytics and analysis tools for sales, trading and research to collaborate with customers on current and future trade ideas. The system operates on a MSSQL database, Windows 2000 application layer, VC++ middleware and UNIX proxy and web servers. The three layers are integrated by use of socket communication, XML requests/responses and VC++ COM middleware components. This person will be working on the back end working with front-end developers and at times with business users. Primary responsibilities include:
- Analyze, design, write and redesign critical Locus server side components,
- Design and write Locus components in C# .Net.
- Design, develop and implement reusable C / VC++ class library API's, design, implement, and performance tune Windows SQL Server 2000 stored procedures.
Our application platform is complex and built of a mixture of in-house developed and third party customized systems hosted on a variety of Operating Systems including Solaris, Linux, Windows, and Databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase. The applications we support deal with thousands of critical trading and sales transactions each day - from pricing complex Structured Products through to managing Limit Orders in fast moving markets.

Work experience:
Software Development experience of 4+ years.
Strong hands-on experience of programming with C++ in a multithreaded application environment using VC++, COM, ATL, STL, and XML.
Experience programming in a high concurrency environment with extensive use and knowledge of native Windows OS synchronization objects and methodologies.
Technical:
VC++ , ATL, STL, Windows NT/2000/XP development
Multi-threaded development,.NET and C# ,XML
Nice to have:
Experience writing C# in a server environment.
Experience with relational databases.
- Experience with Unix (e.g. handling files, searching logs, checking processes)
- Experience with SQL querying (Oracle / Microsoft SQL)
- Strong team player
- Good listening & spoken communication skills in English
- Good problem-solving skills
