Senior IT Java Developer/Designer within the Calculations Dept of Risk and Finance IT focused on the Market Risk calculations development on the strategic Risk Engine Framework (REF), a framework delivering an abstraction/virtualization service for calculations for Risk and Finance applications. The solutions are likely to require cutting edge technology such as Hadoop, Vertica and other Big Data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with the team to agree high level design and architecture of a complex application
- Detailed component level design and implementation of components using a Java and leading edge technologies
- Extension and enhancement of existing solutions
- Exposure to cutting edge Big Data solutions to deliver highly performing and scalable solutions to process terabytes of data per day
Essential:
- Significant design/architecture/delivery experience of Java development for high volume enterprise systems, with good understanding of design principles
- Exposure to caching, aggregation, map-reduce technologies.
- Good understanding of design principles
- JEE, multi-tier architecture, Spring, Oracle
Nice to have:
- Agile/Scrum experience preferred
- Any Vertica/Hadoop/Pivotal/Cloudera Bigdata platform experience would be useful
- Experience of distributed caches such as Coherence and Hazelcast
The "Calculations" department delivers cross-functional applications to Market Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Finance and Risk Analytics and Reporting.
It is strategic data acquisition and management platform. This multi-year multi-million dollar project will deliver a consolidated platform for calculations across Finance, Credit Risk, and Market Risk and provide a platform from which business users will review and analyses market and credit risk as well as regulatory capital. The platform will feed results to reporting services down-stream within Risk and Finance IT. Wroclaw teams build project components with the leading edge technologies in cooperation with teams from other locations worldwide - London, Singapore, Switzerland, India
