Java Developer within the Calculations Dept of Risk and Finance IT focused on support activities for Strategic BackTesting project utilizing Risk Engine Framework (REF), a framework delivering an abstraction/virtualization service for calculations for Risk and Finance applications.
Responsibilities
- Close cooperation with other development teams distributed in EMEA and APAC
- L3 support for Strategic Backtesting project during SIT, UAT and PROD phases
- Extension and enhancement of existing solutions in Java SE, JEE, Spring, Oracle Coherence, Web Services, PL/SQL
- Managing changes across multiple tiers - from the Java application through to the back-end databases
- Development and implementation of new functionalities
- Exposure to cutting edge Big Data solutions
- A Java developer with at least 2 years of experience
- Demonstrable experience in object oriented design, design patterns and programming
- Knowledge of common Java frameworks and integration middleware, e.g. Spring, IBM WebSphere
- Knowledge of JUnit and Mockito
- Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle
- Experience with Linux
- Knowledge of SQL and DBs is advantageous
- Readiness to provide L3 support
- English language skills to business standard

The "Calculations" department delivers cross-functional applications to Market Risk Management, Credit Risk Management, Finance and Risk Analytics and Reporting.
It is strategic data acquisition and management platform. This multi-year multi-million dollar project will deliver a consolidated platform for calculations across Finance, Credit Risk, and Market Risk and provide a platform from which business users will review and analyses market and credit risk as well as regulatory capital. The platform will feed results to reporting services down-stream within Risk and Finance IT. Wroclaw teams build project components with the leading edge technologies in cooperation with teams from other locations worldwide - London, Singapore, Switzerland, India
