In this role your main responsibilities will be to:
- Act as Open Source Software Subject Matter Expert for IT community:
- assessing usage and demand for external libraries;
- making sure libraries available in Definitive Software Library are fit for purpose and in line with organizational view and policies;
- Engineer the project Definitive Software Library solution
- Liaising with users make sure it runs as expected and delivers value;
- To assure right availability levels
- Code for automation, writing plugins.
- Application development background with a focus on Java
- Knowledge of open source software in particular: maven, svn, Artifactory or Nexus
- Knowledge of software builds
- Expertise in software construction process, life-cycle and application development good practices
- Ability to learn quickly and be enthusiastic about technology
- Good English language skills
Nice to have (you will learn it if you do not know it):
- Grails/Groovy experience
- Java-script
- RPM, NPM
- Apache/Tomcat skills
- Track record on java application debugging and tuning
The team main focus is on developing a global platform supporting or cycles of a software product for the whole IT Community.
The project concerns standardize the software development practices and development assets. Project Artifacts available via project Artifactory Service are used by all development projects within IT to resolve external open source, commercial as well as internal dependencies in order to maintain portable builds. This service allows projects to publish their software artifacts from automated builds for deployment or consumption by others hence making project Artifactory a core service for every software construction project.
Working on this project allows you to build a product used by 10 000 other subject matter experts, project managers and developers.
