The successful candidate will work as part of a small agile team across the full delivery cycle, from helping to scope and document User Stories, design and implementation and delivery into production.
The candidate will work closely with QA and GUI specialists on the team to ensure high quality delivery.
The candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively with a small team of technologists - project managers, developers, testers - and closely with the business but will also be able to work independently with little direction from others.
The candidate will have excellent attention to detail, and a quality-focused approach. He or she will also have a thoughtful but pragmatic approach to software development and be able to balance the often conflicting drivers of quality and delivery.
The candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills along with strong logical reasoning skills.
The candidate will demonstrate an ability to quickly learn - both technical skills and business knowledge.
Required :
- 3+ years in software development
- 3+ years core java
- Unit Testing experience (JUnit & Mockito or similar)
- Sound understanding of object oriented development
- Sound understanding of the java threading & memory model
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning capability
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Fluent English
Desirable :
- Experience writing business-focused User Stories
- Experience with globally distributed teams
- Experience in Financial Markets or similar
- Experience in developing trading applications (highly responsive, fast updating)
- Agile experience
- Knowledge of any of the following would be an advantage: Java8 and functional programming, AKKA, Camel, Linux, SCRUM, TDD, Teamcity, Maven, Puppet
The FX IT department is looking for strong developers to join a delivery team of 5 people located in Krakow to work on an exciting and high-profile project to build out the server side infrastructure for an e-commerce application for external users and the FX Sales desks.
The system consists of multiple fast and scalable server processes running on Linux hosts deployed globally and information and services from many different systems to enable trading activity, support and system management.
It is written in core Java 8, Akka and Camel and interfaces with many different back end systems using technologies including 29West, Tibco RV & EMS.
The user interface is primarily written in HTML5, although there are some Flex components also.
